Black Women-Owned Small Businesses in Travel You Should Know About

Updated: Dec 4, 2023

Even though March is National Women's History Month, March shouldn't be the only month we highlight, celebrate, and support women. Women have always been killing the game, but have always been underrepresented and underrated.

Within the year 2020, we had a long season of COVID quarantine when many women creators came out of their shells more than ever before. Statistics show 31% of the small businesses or franchises in the US are owned by women. Within that small sector of ownership, the percentage of women of color (WOC) that are small business owners is even smaller. Let's also acknowledge the fact that WOC with small businesses in the travel industry are even slimer. With the lack of government aid for minority groups and exposure, WOC small business owners have to continue to support each other and use the most powerful tool of marketing and advertising: word of mouth.

Please take the time to visit and support their businesses via the links provided through each of the titles.
